My first still was a plastic 5 gallon bucket and a fish tank heater, this solved my problem of being under 21, but did not make fuel grade ethanol. A few iterations later and many trips to the scrapyard I had built an automated 3" reflux column distillation system that could produce as much as 15 gallons a day of 185 proof, fuel grade alcohol.

These days I am developing a fully automated and integrated fermentation/distillation appliance to enable distributed, regenerative ethanol production.
